McK Ranch fundraiser, August 29th 2012


This dinner is a fundraiser for David and Bette McKibbens' trip to Italy in October. Bette is part of a select group of farmers representing the United States at the 2012 Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre world meeting in Turin, Italy. Slow Food has offered to pay a portion of her travel expenses, but David and Bette have to cover the rest.

Dinner at the Rafns' is delighted to help them raise money for this important trip. The menu is Italian-themed with local wine pairings provided by Illahe Vineyards. We hope you'll join us!

- Salad -
Mixed greens, balsamic vinegar dressing, and Pecorino Romano


- McK Ranch Beef Tenderloin Roast -
Grass-fed beef, Marsala wine sauce, peppercorn pasta
Wine: Pinot Noir 2009

 - Torta al Cacao -
Dark chocolate cake, grape sauce, roasted almonds
Wine: McK Ranch Ruby Red

APRIL 21, 2013 We would like to thank all those who attended our dinner last Thursday. We had another packed house and it sounds like everyone enjoyed the food and company. The ingredients used in this meal were sourced from a handful of local farmers and artisans. The potatoes in the soup were from Teal Creek Farms ; those tasty little cheese curds were made by Full Circle Creamery ; the pork was raised by Rain Shadow El Rancho ; and the goat cheese was hand crafted by the kind folks at Fairview Farm Goat Dairy . We hope you'll patronize these fine businesses. Without them, Dinner at the Rafns' would not be possible.
