We serve lunch on weekdays, and we offer a unique selection of local grocery items, including McK Ranch grass-fed beef, Olympic Provisions salami, Full Circle Creamery and Rogue cheeses, Oregon olive oil, Greenwillow Grains organic flour and oats, artisan coffee, and much more. April dinner recap

APRIL 21, 2013 We would like to thank all those who attended our dinner last Thursday. We had another packed house and it sounds like everyone enjoyed the food and company. The ingredients used in this meal were sourced from a handful of local farmers and artisans. The potatoes in the soup were from Teal Creek Farms ; those tasty little cheese curds were made by Full Circle Creamery ; the pork was raised by Rain Shadow El Rancho ; and the goat cheese was hand crafted by the kind folks at Fairview Farm Goat Dairy . We hope you'll patronize these fine businesses. Without them, Dinner at the Rafns' would not be possible. We'd also like to thank Andrea Ikeda, Ron and Vicky Rafn, and John Lewis Lookingglass for helping out in the kitchen. Much appreciated. Thanks. We hope to see all of you again soon! We're starting a restaurant!

As many of you know, Rochelle and I have wanted to open a legitimate restaurant for some time now. We have spent the last 16 months laying the groundwork, and we're pleased to announce that "Rafns'" is scheduled to open this June!!! (Our new logo can be seen above. ^) Here's the sad part. Our quaint, yet majestic, supper-club events that we host at our home in West Salem will soon end. However, we'd like to host 1 or 2 more dinners before June to raise a little money for the new business. So if you're a regular patron, we hope you'll want to experience the magic of one last Dinner at the Rafns'. And if you still haven't attended one of our dinners, the clock is ticking. Come see us! We are hosting our very first Thursday Dinner on March 21st. This dinner is long overdue for those of you who are always busy on Wednesday evenings. Our menu on the 21st will include a few storage crops from last year's harvest, along with a few items that indicate the arrival of spring. It's an exciting time of year! Christmas Dinner recap

DECEMBER 17, 2012 We would like to thank everyone who attended our Christmas Dinner last week. It was an evening filled with  good friends and holiday cheer! We are especially grateful for the wonderful Christmas carols prepared by Andrea Ikeda and Daniel Rafn . The meal featured ingredients from a few of our favorite farmers and artisans. The grass-fed beef was from McK Ranch [video] ; the apples and root vegetables came from E.Z. Orchards Farm Market ; and the delicious cheeses were made by Full Circle Creamery [video] .
